“Super Bear in action” is a great side scrolling shooting game that really transmits to the player a unique feeling. One of it’s strongest points are the dialog cut scenes between the hero and the invader rabbit, where the voice acting makes this flash game a truly outstanding one. The game actually starts with a face to face funny dialog confrontation between these two characters. The green rabbit somehow tries to explain his occupation by the fact that he is a superior race and everybody should obey in front of him. Given the fact the bear inhabitants have no way of leaving from the planet their only way to survive is to take their chance against the invaders and fight.
Actually only one bear will fight in this war and this will be the character you are controlling among all 20 levels of this game.Just as the game starts you begin to have a clear understanding over your enemies. Even though until now you have tried to negotiate a solution with a green rabbit the incoming enemies consists of vampire bees, vampire bats, flying blue minion eggs and all sort of other flying bugs and monsters.
Some require more hits to be destroyed while others are best to be avoided. Anyway as general rule for this game, keep in mind that you need to move continuously over the screen so that you attract your enemies fire in different points and build a clear and safe way for you to strike back.
One other great hint that I can provide for this type of shooting game is to focus on the enemies fire and look for the tight spots you can escape, rather then looking at your enemies. The fact the game is set to auto fire is a huge relief and gives you the option to better concentrate while playing.
Beside the normal shooting attack, bear can also launch a special kind of attack every time the red bar that shows in the left upper part of the screen is fully loaded. This special attack is best to be used against groups of enemies that blocks your way and also it’s a great leverage while fighting the flying pumpkins mini bosses.
From time to time once you manage to finish a level the verbal confrontation between the bear and the invader’s leader also continues with more comic accents, and threatenings.
It’s highly required that you upgrade once you make you way through the superior levels because your enemies will also move faster and use greater weapons to launch more powerful attacks. At a certain point you will fight the first miniboss inside this game, a giant flying pumpkin that will spread fire all over the screen, and that test your surviving skills to the maximum.
It’s a good thing that even though you may die in this confrontation, once you restart a level the gold coins you collect are still available, helping you to achieve the upgrades more easily. So after about 40 minutes of continuous play you should find yourself face to face to the final boss – the big giant green rabbit.
It took me about 10 times to restart the last level before figuring the best strategy to defeat this malefic and powerful boss. It’s best to use the special attack as many times as it shows available and circle the boss as many times as you can in order to distract his fire against you and stand better chances.
After the boss finally surrenders the dialog scenes are once again on the table continuing the story and setting things to and end.The green rabbits asks for mercy but all he gets is a final shoot putting and end to his conquering ambitions.
I really enjoyed this game a lot, it’s simple and complicated at the same time and get’s you addicted real fast.
